Jean-Louis Peta Ikambana was elected as the first TWF Chief Executive Officer in April of 2020. In that capacity, he is the TWF’s General Manager and represents the organization.
Dr. Ikambana is currently the Chief Evaluation and Compliance Officer of a Washington DC-based Nonprofit Organization.
Dr. Ikambana holds several academic degrees including a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy (Democratic Republic of the Congo), Master’s Degree in Political Science (Republic of Colombia), Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice (United States), Master’s Degree in International Affairs (United States), and a Doctor of Philosophy in African American Studies (United States).
Dr. Ikambana is a human rights advocate and the recipient of the 2010 Community Human Rights Award presented by the United Nations Association of the National Capital Area; the 2014 President’s Volunteer Service Award and the 2016 Edward O’Brien Award of Human Rights Educators USA, and the 2017 Community Human Rights Award from the US Human Rights Network.
Dr. Ikambana is the author of “Mobutu’s Totalitarian Political System. An Afrocentric Analysis”, published by Routledge, and a contributor to “Africa in the 21st Century”, published by Routledge.
