Dr. Badibanga joined Bowie State University in 2014 as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics before being appointed an Assistant Professor of Economics since August 22, 2017. He worked before for the International Food Policy Research Institute – IFPRI (a Washington D.C.-based research institution) from 2010 to 2014 as an Associate Research Fellow and the Coordinator of the IFPRI’s Country Strategy Support Program (CSSP) for the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Prior to joining IFPRI, Dr. Badibanga worked as a Lecturer at the University of Kinshasa (Kinshasa, DRC) from 1995 to 2000, an Adjunct Professor at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John University (Minnesota) in 2009, an Adjunct Professor at Hamline University (Minnesota) in 2010, and as an Instructor and Research Associate at the University of Minnesota Twin-Cities in 2010. He also worked as an expert at the DRC Internal Revenue Service from 1993 to 2000 and as a Fiscal Advisor to the DRC Minister of Treasury in 1998. He earns a Master's degree in Economics from Western Illinois University in 2003 and a Ph.D. degree in Applied Economics, Macroeconomics, Economic Growth and Development from the University of Minnesota in 2010. His research foci include structural transformation, economic growth, and agricultural and rural development. He has been involved in research and policy advisory work on sectoral policy and strategy issues related to the implementation of the AU/NEPAD’s Comprehensive Africa Agricultural Development Program (CAADP).
